Hijama (cupping therapy) is a Prophetic practice recommended in the Sunnah for maintaining health and treating ailments. It involves creating light suction on specific points of the body, then releasing small amounts of blood to help remove stagnant blood and toxins.
-
Yes. I am a trained Hijama practitioner who follows safe and hygienic techniques in accordance with both Australian health standards and Islamic guidelines. All instruments are sterile, single-use, and disposed of after every session to ensure the highest level of safety.
-
Hijama helps:
Improve blood circulation and remove stagnant blood
Support detoxification and reduce inflammation
Relieve headaches, back pain, joint pain, and muscle tension
Boost energy levels and immune function
Support hormonal balance, digestion, and sleep
Spiritually, it is a Sunnah remedy that brings barakah (blessing) and shifā’ (healing by Allah’s will).
-
I use disposable plastic cups with a hand-pump suction device—never heated glass. Sterile surgical-grade blades or lancets are used for wet cupping, and all are single-use and safely disposed of after every session.

The number of sessions depends on your condition:
General Sunnah detox: 1–2 sessions per year on Sunnah days for overall wellbeing.
Chronic conditions: 3–6 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart.
Pain or injury-related issues: Frequency is tailored after your consultation.

The Prophet ﷺ recommended having Hijama on the 17th, 19th, and 21st days of the Islamic lunar month (when these days fall on a Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday).
“Whoever performs cupping on the seventeenth, nineteenth or twenty-first day will be healed of every disease.”
— Sunan Abu Dawood, 3861 (Hasan) -
Suction is applied to gently draw blood to the surface of the skin, then tiny incisions are made to release stagnant, unhealthy blood. This process stimulates the body’s natural detoxification, improves circulation, and encourages healing in targeted areas.
-
Hijama is generally safe but should be avoided:
During pregnancy (first trimester) or during heavy menstruation
If you have severe anaemia, uncontrolled diabetes, or clotting disorders
If you’re taking blood-thinning medication (unless cleared by your doctor)
When you feel weak, dehydrated, or fasting without enough energy
We will always ask about your health before treatment to ensure it is safe for you.
-
Facial cupping is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that:
Increases blood flow and collagen production
Reduces puffiness and brightens the complexion
May help soften fine lines naturally
It uses very light suction and does not break the skin.
-
It is Sunnah to have Hijama on an empty stomach or at least 2–3 hours after a light meal, as the Prophet ﷺ said:
“Cupping on an empty stomach is best; it increases the intellect and improves memory.”
— Sunan Ibn Majah, 3487 (Hasan)

After Hijama:
Avoid heavy exercise, swimming, or hot showers for 24 hours.
Keep the area clean and dry, and avoid scratching the cupped spots.
Drink plenty of water and eat a light, wholesome meal (dates, broth, fruit).
Avoid caffeine, smoking, and cold drinks for 24 hours to aid detoxification.
Mild redness or small circular marks are normal and fade in a few days. Most clients feel relaxed, sometimes a little tired the same day, but there is minimal downtime.
